With a twenty pound camera balanced on his shoulder, stealing a scene on the side of a Nevada highway for an unassuming little movie that would define a decade, Doug’s directorial journey began as an indie filmmaker, shooting his own movies and writing his own rules.

After directing and photographing the now-iconic Swingers, and following it up with the adrenaline-soaked Go, Doug quickly moved to the center of Hollywood, bringing his independent spirit to the mainstream. With The Bourne Identity, Doug forever changed the way action movies would be shot, cut and choreographed, launching one of the largest franchises in film history and reinventing the spy genre.

Beginning with Matt Damon, Doug became a magnet for A list collaboration, partnering with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the box office sensation Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt for the time-looping sci-fi action thriller, Edge of Tomorrow

Alongside moviemaking, Doug has established himself as a passionate and prolific commercial director. Doug’s spot for the new iPad, "Mission Implausible", featuring architect Norman Foster’s iconic ring-shaped Apple headquarters as the target of a tech heist by none other than company president Tim Cook, was a creative sensation.

Amongst Doug’s newest projects are the Award winning commercial “The Reset” for Verizon, and the seat-shaking, gravity-defying United States Air Force recruitment spot, "Own The Sky," playing in movie theaters before Top Gun: Maverick. Over the years, Doug has directed campaigns for brands such as Sony Playstation, Mercedes, Levi’s, Nike, Chevy, Cadillac, Visa and Adidas.

In television, Doug directed and produced the eight-part spy drama series, The Recruit, and is set to direct the upcoming limited series, Red Notice, based on the eponymous New York Times bestselling non-fiction book, both for Netflix. Doug will next be directing the upcoming feature film Road House, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, based on the original 1989 Patrick Swayze action brawler, for MGM, and is soon reuniting with Tom Cruise and collaborating with SpaceX to direct the first action film shot in ACTUAL outer space. More recently, Doug debuted his documentary Justice at Sundance Film Festival, covering the FBI investigation into Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh's assault allegations. An independent rebel to his core, Doug is always pushing the boundaries of how stories can be told, on our planet and beyond.
