Regina King

A Man in Full

Shirley

One Night in Miami

This Is Us - "Help"

Insecure - "Cemetery/Block Party"

As an Academy Award-winning actor and acclaimed filmmaker, Regina’s work uniquely reflects our cultural moment – socially, politically and artistically. The movies she directs and the roles she inhabits, in both features and television, interrogate our past, hold a mirror to our prejudice, and challenge who we can become by recognizing who we have been.

Her accolades and accomplishments are as densely layered as the characters she has directed and played – a three-time Emmy Award winner for her roles in Seven Seconds, American Crime and HBO’s Watchmen. An Academy Award Winner for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in If Beale Street Could Talk. An accomplished television director, with credits that include This Is Us, Scandal, The Good Doctor, Animal Kingdom and Insecure. And a feature film producer and director with One Night In Miami, which garnered three Academy Award nominations.

Regina is seen in the film Shirley, portraying Shirley Chisholm, America’s first Black congresswoman and presidential candidate, which she also produced for Netflix. Regina will be executive producing and directing the upcoming Netflix limited series A Man in Full from showrunner David E. Kelly, starring two-time Emmy Award winner Jeff Daniels, based on the novel by Thomas Wolfe. Regina will also direct the feature film adaptation of Bitter Root, a big screen rendering of the eponymous comic book series for Legendary Pictures, merging monsters and malevolent racism during the Harlem Renaissance in 1924.

As her strong voice and clear vision remain focused across all mediums, Regina is excited to expand her storytelling beyond film and television into new areas, from commercials/branded content to her collaboration with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she was invited to narrativize the history of American fashion along with eight other esteemed guest directors, including Martin Scorsese, Tom Ford and Chloé Zhao, for the museum’s survey exhibition, In America: An Anthology of Fashion. By consistently capturing the zeitgeist and turning it inside out as one of our most accomplished artists, Regina stands at the center of the American story.
